I work as a User Interface & User Experience Designer, but I'm also a Graphic Designer and Industrial Engineer, creating a perfect combo for UX/UI.
Thanks to my study background in graphic design and BS in industrial engineering, I connect UX/UI design with real business goals while I create solutions for users and smooth experiences. I have agency and company experience, I love team working and collaboration, this is key for UX. When you work with a multicultural team, you learn a lot. Each project is a blessing and an opportunity to learn. I speak both English and Spanish fluently, which helps me a lot.
Asides from UX/UI design, I have background in cost control, industrial engineering, supply chain, marketing, business, and graphic design. One of the perks of having all these skills is that I can combine them to provide multiple-angle solutions, not only for the designer perspective, but also for the marketing and engineering one.
Design has always been my passion and hobby since my early childhood. Although I studied Industrial Engineering first, I started to use the Adobe Suite when I was just 14 years old, making funny edits of my friends in Photoshop and doing logos for imaginary brands on Illustrator. All these skills were self-taught, watching tutorials and reading design books.
At the age of 18, when I was allowed to join freelance webs, I started to work at Fiverr and Upwork (it was called Elance). Thanks to that, I gained real professional experience before I had my degree. Three years later, when I was 21, I already had a portfolio with 700+ projects for 200+ clients in more than 50 countries. Having the United States as my main market.
As mentioned before, I have a BS in Industrial Engineering, and deep knowledge in graphic design, UX/UI design, and psychology. But, "who is Daniel when he's not designing?".
Born in 1996, in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I moved early to Colombia, close to the border with Venezuela. Although my path went differently, I always wanted to be an odontologist, it's funny because they are the teeth designers and engineers. Since I was a teenager, I loved creating funny edits and designing imaginary brands, so I started to use the Adobe Suite (mostly Photoshop and Illustrator) when I was just 13 years old.
When I was in high school, I got a scholarship to study either journalism or engineering. I'm a talkative person, but journalism wasn't my thing, so I chose industrial engineering, later I discovered that I was skilled in design and I kept learning about that field even when I was still studying engineering, and the rest is history.
In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, spending time with my family, watching movies, playing videogames, football, paintball. And I also enjoy a lot reading about new design and technology trends.
And... I guess this is pretty much it, I'm open with my personal life, but I'm not sure I can make a summary without spending less than one million words😁
